Snake River
Guided Fishing Float Trip

Authorized permittee in Bridger-Teton National Forest

Authorized concessioner in Grand Teton National Park

An equal Opportunity Provider

The Snake is our most requested float trip due to the scenery and the great fishing that can be had. The sections of the Snake that we float start 34 miles north of our shop in Jackson at the Jackson Lake dam.

There are over seven stretches that can be fished on the Snake through Jackson Hole.

This river contains 99% Snake River Cutthroat and we always practice catch and release to preserve the numbers of this native fish. As aforementioned, the Snake through Grand Teton National Park is probably the most scenic trout stream in the states if not the world.

The Snake is often called the best fly fishing river for beginning fly fishermen. Cutthroat trout take dry flies quite readily, even an absolute beginner can catch trout on his first outing. Our guides are all expert casters and are happy to teach you methods of casting and working a fly. All of our trips are limited to artificials only. While we do take spin fishermen on trips, we emphasize learning to fly fish. You don't have to be a fisherman to truly enjoy a drift down the Snake River. If you have a partner who doesn't fish, the trip is equally enjoyable for simply viewing the wildlife and spectacular scenery.

Fishing trips usually start between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning, depending on the time of year, and are full day adventures. We cast from the drifting boat up against logs and brush that provide cover for the Snake River Cutthroat. In this manner you are able to reach waters that are not fishable from the bank. We also fish some of the best holes on the river where you can get out of the boat and work the side channels of the Snake. Around noon, a stream side lunch will be provided.
